DGCA grants licence to Goa's Mopa Airport, flight operations to begin SOON

The Mopa airport will be the second airport in Goa, the first being Dabolim airport in Mormugao city, co-shared with the Indian Navy.

India's Aviation watchdog Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has given the aerodrome licence to the upcoming new airport at Mopa in Goa, paving the way for starting commercial flights operations from there soon. The new airport will be around 35 kilometre from Panjim in the northern part of Goa and will be the second commercial airport in the state where already there is an operational airport at Dabolim in Mormugao city. The current airport in Dabolim is co-shared with the Indian Navy and hence has flight restrictions, limiting the daily number of flights and operating hours.
