In Armenia, Yerevan is one of the best cities in the world.  Yerevan is called as the ‘Pink City’ because of the color of the stones used to build much of the city center, which is a short area known as Kentron. 

The capital city is quickly displaying a significant tourist stop thanks to its many landmarks, extensive nightlife, great museums, and lovely parks.

1 Republic Square
 The place to do this, as it is home to stages like the grand Republic Square, the majestic Opera House, the 18th century Blue Mosque and the famous Cascade complex.

Wandering around the city center is a phenomenal way to see the history of the city, from the Persian times to the Soviet periods. You will also get a flash at Yerevan’s modern side, with modern architecture, coffee shops, and trendy restaurants being located on the alleyways and the main roads.

2.Cascade
This open stairwell rests right in the city center and is one of its key landmarks. It was built during the Soviet period in 1971 and was completely renewed in 2009.

The views over the city while climbing the stairs are breathtaking, especially at night when the city lights up. It is certainly not to be missed.

3 Ararat

The distillery is open for trips, which includes a tasting. The tour takes place in the in-house museum, where visitors learn about the history of the company and the making of this fine alcohol.
A visit to Ararat is a must for any brandy expert.

4 Lovers Park
There are many parks all over the city that are famous for kicking back, taking your shoes off and a picnic. Lover park is not only famous but also very old park.

Another perfect place for a picnic is the English park. This park is famous for photography shoots. 

5 Yerevan Water World
Yerevan Water world is a very famous waterpark. The three-hectare water park is home to 12 waterslides, 7 outdoor pools, 3 indoor pools, and 2 children areas.

Yerevan Water World is famous for a family picnic, though anyone at any age can enjoy themselves. The outdoor open-air park features 2 large swimming pools, 3 pools with water slides, a VIP pool, and a children’s pool, as well as food stands and a restaurant.

Travel inside to Aquatek and enjoy resting at the Aquatek Spa Hotel, which owns fountains, a spa, and a fitness center. There are also 2 huge pools, 1 children’s pool and wall-climbing facilities in this area of the water park.

6.Swan Lake
In the wintertime, one of the great outside pools at Yerevan Water World is converted into a 500 square meters ice arena. It is a lot of play and is a must for anyone visiting Yerevan in the winter.

Extra choice is to travel to Swan Lake and skate with the locals. The lake sits directly next to the Opera House and is a wonderful place to skate around, breathing in the fresh air and enjoying the neighboring landscape. Skate rents are available, which is a big plus for any visitors touring the city.

7. Kond
Kond is one of the most traditional areas in the city, dating back to the 17th century. The quarter sits along a hill facing the city center.

The area is home to many Ottoman/Persian/Muslim houses that feature 1.5-meter thick walls that were originally made out of clay and small stones. These houses sit along narrow streets and alleyways that are no more than 90 to 120 centimeters wide.

Walking around Kond is a wonderful experience, gazing at the ancient architecture and finding some hidden gems. Spend an afternoon getting lost along the winding streets and alleyways in Kond, as you never know what you may find here.
