Everest Base Camp Trek


Departure Dates: 10th May & 20th September 2020

Trek Itinerary.

Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu (1350 m / 4428 ft), transfer to hotel.
Arrival at Kathmandu Airport, meet & greet by our representative at a arrival gate, transfer you to hotel. Welcome drinks and check in room, rest of time visit to touristic area in Thamel, evening short briefing about your details program, meet with Guide. O/N Kathmandu.
 
Day 02: Fly to Lukla (2840 m / 9,315 ft) trek to Phakding (2610 m/8,560 ft) 3-4 hrs.
We transfer to airport for 35 minute flight by Twin Otter to Lukla, Originally conceived by the late Sir Edmund Hillary’s Himalayan Trust as an emergency evacuation runway for casualties brought to the Trust’s hospital at bear by Khunde. Lukla is one of the busiest runways in Nepal. From the air we see the rugged foothills give way to the snow line of the Himalaya, many of the world’s highest mountains, Mt. Everest, Kanchenjunga, Makalu, Lhotse, Nuptse may be seen, After sorting out our gear and meeting our trekking crew, we begin the trek by chaurikharka and heading up the Dudh-Koshi valley to Phakding. Day 03: Phakding to Namche Bazaar (3450m/ 11,316 ft) 6 – 7 Hrs. 

We continue north following the Dudh-Koshi river and on to Jorsale, where we enter the Mt. Sagarmatha (Everest) National park, from here it is a short walk to the confluence of the ImjaKhola and the BhoteKosi river, where we cross a spectacular high bridge followed by a steep climb 2 hours to Namche Bazaar. The sherpa “Capital” about halfway up the hill, a gap in the trees allows us to view Everest for the first time. Namche is a prosperous sherpa village spread within a horseshoe shaped valley surrounded by the impressive peaks of Thamserku, KwangdeRi, &Khumbila . An important trading center, it holds a weekly Saturday market for the local Sherpa. O/N Namche Bazaar.

Day 04: Namche Bazaar – Rest Day. 
This rest day is important for acclimatization. To begin the day, it is worth getting up early to trek just above Namche to the sagarmatha National Park headquarters for sunrise. This is a stunning vantage point from which to view the peaks of Taweche, Thamserku, Ama-Dablem, Nuptse, Lotse and Mt. Everest at the head of the Imjaknola valley. The remainder of the day can be spent relaxing, shopping in the Namche or Alternatively: we could walk up the BhoteKosi valley towards Thami following a trail that was once a busy trading route into Tibet. Along the way we pass many prayer flags and mani stones, all indicative of the Tibetan/ Buddhist culture of this area. O/N Namche Bazaar.

Day 05: Namche to Tangboche (3870 m/ 12,693 ft) 5-6 hrs.
Leaving to Namche, we pass by stone Mani, 10 minutes walk there are home to the brightly colored Danfe, a type of Pheasant that is the National bird of Nepal.We continue to a suspension bridge and on to phunki Tenga than it is long climb toward the ridge line, where we pass through a traditional gateway and around a chorten which leads up to Tangboche Monastery. The monastery was rebuilt destroyed by fire in 1989. For trekkers, Tyangboche offers one of the best mountain panoramas on this trail. It is worth walking to the chorten on the ridge line behind the monastery to hang prayer flags. O/N Tangbouche.

Day 06: Tangboche to Dingbouch village (4410 m /14,464 ft) 5-6 hrs.
In the morning views of the mountain and monasteries are spectacular in Tangboche, We descent most of the morning in the Imjatse-Khola through the forest of birch, conifers and rhododendrons. As we follow the river northward the trail pass through several chortens and Mani walls and small villages. On the way we will have best view of Ama-Dablem. On the arrival at Dingboche, we enjoy the beautiful array of fields enclosed by stone walls to protect the barley, back wheat and potatoes. The views are great from Dingboche, we can see Island Peak, Makalu & another face of Ama-Dablem. O/N Dingbouche.

Day 07: Dingbouche to Lobuche (4910 m/16,104 ft) 3- 4 hrs.
Trek through the high alpine region and on the way to Lobuche, we cross the glacial frozen river at Thukla and climb up hill, watching magnificent view of Cholatse, Lobuche, Pumari&Nuptse. O/N Lobuche.

Day 08: Lobuche to Gorak-Shep (5170 m /16,957 ft) to Everest Base Camp (5364 m /17,593 ft) to Gorak-Shep back. 6 – 7 hrs.
The first section of the trail from Lobuche follows the narrow gap between the glacial maraine and the mountain walls then cross rim glacier to reach the day lake bed of Gorak-Shep. At Gorak-shep check into Hotel and have lunch, then walk towards the Everest Base Camp. Reach the base camp and explore the area famous for so many climbing expeditions to Mt.Everest, the area provides an opportunity to experience the freezing and harsh conditions that mountaineers brave to summit this famous mountain. Trek back to Lodge. O/N GorakhShep.

Day 09: Climb to Kalapatther (5550 m /18,204 ft) & to Pheriche (4280 m /14,038 ft) 7-8 hrs.
Start early in the morning as mornings are usually sparkling and clear and best time to climb Kalapatther, this is the highest of the trekking, we will be rewarded the 360 degree dramatic panorama views of Mt. Everest and surrounding mountains on being back to hotel, we have breakfast followed by gradual descend down to Pheriche. O/N Pheriche.

Day 10: Pheriche to Namche  Bazaar-6- 7 hrs.
We will take down through the hill side blanketed by rhododendron and juniper trees, if its spring, Pink, Red rhododendron flowers ablaze our surrounding from Tengboche. The trail goes down to PhunkiTanga. From here mostly the trail goes through the pine forest and have change to see wild life like mountain goats, snow leopard and colorful pheasants, finally we will arrival at Namche. O/N Namche Bazaar.

Day 11: Namche to Phakding (2610 m / 8,560 ft) 4 – 5 hrs. 
Trek Back to Phakding by same route, O/N Phakding. 

Day 12: Phakding to Lukla, 3-4 hrs.
Morning after breakfast leave for Lukla Airport to board a flight back to Kathmandu.O/N Kathmandu.

Day 13: Kathmandu. 
Full day at rest at leisure. O/N Kathmandu.

Day 14: Departure from Kathmandu
Morning after breakfast drop at Kathmandu Airport, to board flight back to Destination. Journey Ends here. 

Trek Charge: INR 90,000 PP for Indian Tourist on twin sharing (Ex Kathmandu)

 

Trek Charges Include:

  • Lunch + Dinner + Breakfast (during Trekking) Only Veg meals will be provided. 
  • 03 nights at hotel on twin sharing basis in Kathmandu with Breakfast & Dinner basis.
  • 10 night at Tea House lodge on twin sharing basis during trek (At Tea House Lodge, toilet / washroom will be common) with one time hot shower facility charge during trek at Tea House Lodge.
  • English Speaking trained / government license holder trek Guide with assistance trek guide.
  • Airfare for Kathmandu – Lukla – Kathmandu. 
  • All necessary official documents and papers work.
  • Sagarmatha National Park Permit and TIMS cards.
  • Trek Insurance for Trekker (Valid for Indian Tourist only – Emergency Heli Rescue included)
  • 01 Walking pole sticks to each trekker during trekking.
  • Sleeping bag for trekking period only.
