A Shiva Lingam was already here when Lord Rama visited this place. Lord Rama after his victorious battle left for Ayodhya with Sita in one of King Ravana’s Vimanas. He felt he was being followed by a Bramhaasthi Dosham (a malevolent black shadow) as he had killed King Ravana who was a Brahmin.

Manavari Temple

When the Vimana was passing over Munishwaram, he felt the Vimana vibrating, and realized the Brahmaasti Dosham was not following him at this particular point. He stopped the Vimana at this juncture and asked god Lord Shiva for advice. Lord Shiva blessed Lord Rama and advised installing and praying at four lingams located at Manavari, Thiru Koneshwaram, Thiru Ketheshwaram and Rameshwaram in India as the only remedy to get rid of the dosham. The first lingam was installed at Manavari about 5km from here, near the banks of the Deduru Oya. At the Manavari Temple Chilaw Manavari is the first lingam installed and prayed by Rama and till date this lingam is called as Ramalinga Shivan. Rameshwaram is the only other lingam in world named after Lord Rama.

Before we think about Anjaneyar temple history, that we have to how swamigal performed with hundred percent efforts and overlook personal history. Sanskrit ‘Kuha’ means that deepest hiding cave. Anjaneyar devotees increasing day by day because of the enlighten preaching of our Sri Chandrasekara Swamigal springs from Kuha (inner deepest Heart). Childhood of the swamigal skilled performance is able to visualize through Anjanam that whatever occurrence can be relayed. 3.5 million baby turtles into the wild.
The hatchery pays fishermen for eggs that they collect at night along the
long sandy beach. Although October to April is the main laying season,
some eggs (mostly green turtles) can be found at Kosgoda throughout the
year.
The hatchery buries the eggs in sand, and when they hatch around 50 days later the baby turtles are
released into the sea at night. Only about one in 1,000 turtles survives to maturity.
Kosgoda turtle hatchery also has tanks for injured or disabled turtles, including albino turtles that
would not survive in the wild

plants and animals – monkeys eat fruit in the trees, a water monitor lizard
glides slowly through The water, and cormorants, egrets and kingfishers wait
patiently on the banks, eyeing the water for prey.
There are around 64 islands in the river and lagoon, from a tiny speck
housing a deserted shrine to one housing 250 families connected to the
mainland with a very long footbridge.
You can visit an island with a Buddhist monastery, where the friendly young monks will show you a
150-year-old book made of palm leaves and how they cook on cinnamon wood on an open fire.
